THE MODEL

Given its 1:24 scale, the kit will make an impressive replica of the first powered airplane. The graphic artwork is doubtless one of the best I have ever seen. The paper-work is not very complicated. The wings are to be built in a kind of mold, to reproduce the negative dihedral. After gluing one wing together, I fixed the wing with a lot of soft threads into this mold for at least one night. Mounting the upper wing on the struts requires a little sophistication - it's still a "one-hand-missing" problem (no matter how many hands you have, there is always one missing). The mold is used once again to keep the wings together at the negative dihedral. I had to fix only one little gap between the struts of the fore-wings and the main upper wing.

All the cutting edges have to be colored to get a good finish. The little holes in the wing's struts make the rigging very easy to complete.

Very little is missing. The oil and fuel lines and the pilot are not included. Nevertheless, the finished model is beautiful.
