As an avid fan of WWII birds, the P-40M was a natural choice. This kit is the 1:32 scale gem designed by Dr. Emil Zarkov and published by Modelart Russia. If you aren't familiar with the works of Dr. Zarkov, the first thing you will notice when flipping through the pages are the brilliant, beautiful and accurately colored parts. Everything is laid out in a logical sequence with little room for confusion. The written instructions are in both Russian and English with 3 individual pages of very detailed diagrams. The construction of the kit makes good use of a combination of both formers and joining strips. I prefer this method of fuselage construction over the more widely used butt-joint method as it makes for a very smooth 'skin' on the aircraft. The 4 pages of parts are laser printed on stock that is somewhat lighter than I prefer to use but the registration and color is perfect. As I have a habit of accidentally 'miss-cutting' many parts before I get it right, I made working copies of the kit on somewhat heavier stock and all went well. I highly reccomend this model to anyone that wishes to re-create one of the most popular aircraft of the war. The model's construction is straight forward and suitable for anyone with a few kits under their belt.
