Adverising on Cardmodelers.org
The Cardmodelers.org web site, the Cardmodelers Online Magazine and the Cardmodelers Mailing List have been set up as a non profit venue for the benefit of the card modeling public. They were not set up as a place for commercial companies to advertise their products. These commercial companies who are advertising their products on this venue are not helping to pay for the operation of the web site or the magazine.
The cost of setting this operation was financed by the readers of the mailing list and magazine who have generously sent in either money or models to help us get started. At this time we are running the magazine by selling models off of the web site. We have tried, and been successful so far, not to have to charge a subscription fee or have advertising in the magazine. It is felt that not charging a subscription fee makes the magazine available to all card modelers. Not having advertising allows us to review models without any pressure from anyone.
Those commercial companies who contribute models to the Card modelers Online magazine for review help us keep the venue running and will be given a credit that includes their web site address in the months magazine that their model appears in. That is the only mention of any commercial company that will be allowed in the magazine.
On the mailing list no blatant advertising by any commercial company will be permitted and this includes putting your companies name in your signature block. What commercial companies are allowed to do on this mailing list is to announce new products. This must be done circumspectevly and no prices will be allowed to be posted on the mailing list.
Please not the term "commercial company" this in no way limits the announcements from "non profit" companies or web sites.
