Cap Arcona - Progress in Pictures

Picture 1
The stern has to be build in permanently, as the promenade deck has to be built on top. The spokes of the capstan are cut out. It is recommended to wait not too long after doubling the piece, so that the UHU glue is not hardened yet, otherwise it is difficult to cut out small parts. The anchor chain is out of the fashion department.

Picture 2
The hull is finished except the outer skin. You can see in the front area the carpets of the smoking saloon.

Picture 3
The finished hull with the underwater ship. Short before the stern you can see the guide, which makes the installation of the deck much easier, if the designer would have thought about it.

Bild 4
The incorporation of the guide, a little closer as picture 3. The high part was cut later to the right height. The white rectangles are the mountings for the sidewalls of the saloon.

Bild 5
The foundations for the smoke stags are finished. The doors are also cut out and some chairs are attached. The white flaps are used later as guidance for the play deck No. 78. Also the cube shown below. It is narrower at the bottom so it fits better into the guides.

Picture 6
Give the main on the piano another beer. Right in the picture you can see the cube guides in the smoke stag shaft, which are the mountings for the detachable play deck. The glue flaps are glued to the inside to strengthen the shafts. The holes in the guide cubes are for easy handling.

Picture 7
The same section from a different view. It can be seen that the cutting edges of the chairs have been colored.

The next two sections of the play deck. I have also build an opening under the part 102.

Picture 17
The front part of the superstructure. The sidewalls of the saloon are installed. In the middle of the picture you can see the loops for the installation of shrouds.

Picture 18
You can see the drilled loops glued under the deck.

Picture 19
The play deck is installed with its many parts. The stepped t-shaped deck is installed permanent right from the tennis court, because we have to attach here the rigs of the mast.
