Digital Navy Macchi C 202 Folgore
The Digital Navy 1/32 scale Macchi C 202 marked Roman Detyna's first departure from ship model design to that of aircraft models.
The Digital Navy Macchi 202 is available in two color schemes and group markings; a green over tan scheme in the markings of the 356a Squadrigila, 21 Gruppo Autonomo based at Veroscilovgrad, Russia in January 1941. This color scheme is similar the one on the Macchi 202 that is hanging in the Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. The other color scheme and markings, worn by this model, belongs to the 97a Squadriglia, 9 Gruppo, 4 Stormo based in Sicily in 1941.
I purchased this model directly from Roman at the 2nd Paper model Convention in Dayton Ohio. Currently the model is available on CD directly from Digital Navy or in printed form from Paper Models International.
The model consists of 113 colored parts, assembly drawings, and connecting strips. This was a very enjoyable model to build with near perfect parts fit and registration.
