This model of a 1941 Willy's Jeep can be found as a free download on the Internet thanks to the generosity of Toni Mauricio. Originally the model was designed in the scale 1:17, and it can be downloaded as a PDF file holding six A4 pages. Although there are no diagrams on how to build the model, there is some text attached to the pieces with some explanations. As I wanted to display the model along with some airplane models in the scale 1:50, I decided to downscale the model accordingly. After the reduction in size, all five pages with pieces can be printed on one page (see photo). For my convenience, I usually buy along with other models some of the cardboard from Scheuer&Str;ver in Hamburg (60 pages in A4, Art 613 39 60), which works well for printing with an ink jet printer. This is the same paper they are also using for the printing of their own HMV models. The assembly of the Jeep model was quite straight forward even without instructions. Here and there I cut off some of the connecting strips to make it easier to glue the small parts. After a needle was used for the gearshift, the windscreen was made up from some transparency and some self-made windscreen wipers were added, the model was ready for display. The fitting was very nice with one exception: The backseat was a little bit too long and I had to shorten two pieces. This model can easily be built on one to two evenings. - Dear Toni, thank you very much for the nice kit!
