The Card Modelers Online E-zine has an ongoing need for reviewers to build and write reviews for the magazine. You are invited to submit reviews of models that you are building or have built. The magazine is willing to send to you, under the below conditions, models that have been donated for you to build and write a review on. Before you volunteer to accept and build a model that we send you please read the below.
The magazine will publish two different types of reviews, a photo review and a construction review. Photo reviews will consist of a short description of the model and at least four pictures of the completed model. The other type of review will be a construction review. The construction review will consist of a step by step description of the building of the model along with pictures to show each step.
The magazine will provide models for construction reviews under the below conditions. The magazine will not provide models for photo reviews. You may do either type of review if you provide the model yourself.
1. This magazine is a non-profit organization and you will not receive any monies for the review.
2. The magazine reserves the right to select the models that you review. Normally you will be allowed to select your own model but we may select your first and second models to determine your ability to review card models.
3. You will have to pay postage for models shipped to you, this will depend on the size of the model. On the average $3.00 in the U.S. but this could be more if the model is large. Cost outside of the U.S. will of course be much higher.
4. Reviews will be completed in 30 to 60 days from receipt of models unless the model is to large to be completed in this time period. If the model is to large to be completed in the time period, you will be expected to write a progress report, with pictures, to be posted in the magazine each month you are working on the model.
5. If for any reason you can not complete the model in the time period above you will be responsible for paying the postage to return the model to me so that I can re-ship it to someone else.
6. Construction reviews will contain pictures showing the steps in the construction procedure along with a series of pictures showing the completed model. Examples of how to write the reviews are in the magazine located at http://teuton.org/~saulj/ezine .
7. You will be shipped one model at a time. You will not get another model until the review of the previous model is turned in for publication.
8. The model provide to you are not free models. They are commercially available models that are provided to us by dealers and designers for review. You are not to share these models with anyone or post them on the Internet. Once you finish the review the model is yours just the same as if you had purchased it. If you decide not to do the review it is your responsibility to return it to me or destroy any files that you have of the model. These models are copyrighted and sharing them in anyway is illegal and appropriate action will be taken if it occurs with any models I send out.
9. Please think about becoming a reviewer before making a commitment. Committing to do a review and failure to complete that commitment can have serious consequences. If you do not complete the review and fail to return the model to the magazine you will not be considered to do anymore reviews for this magazine. The magazine will keep track of those who receive models and do not return a review or the model. If the editorial staff is asked about people to do beta reviews or reviews for other companies or publications your name will be turned in as unreliable.
If after reading the above you would like to be considered as a reviewer for the magazine contact me at saulj@teuton.org.
