After building so many of the Polish models, butt and glue, I decided to go back and build a German type, former connecting strip model. I started building card models with the Wilhelmshaven models which are from Germany and of course use the German method of construction. I decided to build their P51D as it is the only 1/50th model of this variation available.
As I started the model I found to my surprise that this model used the Polish method to build the fuselage. I assume that Wilhelmshavener had someone from Eastern Eourpe design the model for them. Even though it is not in the typical Wilhelmshaven building method it is of the same high quality as all their models I have built. The model went together very well as you can see with all of the markings and camoflouge matching up. The only problem that I have with this companies models is that they insist on putting their logo in clear view. As you can see the logo is on the nose right behind the propeller. I would suggest that if it is necessary to put the logo on the model that it be put underneath where it would not stand out.
